Frequently Asked Questions.

  • What actually is "Model United Nations?"

Model UN (MUN for short) is a simulation of the United Nations where students (of all ages) take on the roles of diplomats, representing countries or organisations to discuss and solve global issues. Delegates research, debate and draft resolutions on topics ranging from climate change to international security. It’s a unique platform to develop diplomacy, public speaking and leadership skills. We highly recommend it!

  • What platform will we be using for virtual conferences?

We use Zoom, a user-friendly platform that (*hopefully*) ensures smooth communication and collaboration throughout the conference.

  • How do unmoderated caucuses (unmods) work in a virtual setting?

Unmods are conducted using Zoom’s "breakout rooms." These rooms allow delegates to form smaller groups for discussions while remaining connected to the main call.

It’s a great way to brainstorm and collaborate effectively in a virtual environment!

  • Is there a fee to attend the conference?

No, IYMUN is completely free to attend! We believe in making MUN accessible to everyone, regardless of financial circumstances.

  • Do I need to be in the same time zone as the conference to participate?

Not at all! Delegates from any time zone can join, as long as they adjust for the conference schedule (Indian standard time). All you need is to commit to the timings that work for your location.

  • Can schools and groups participate in IYMUN?

Absolutely! Our registration form allows the option to sign up as a delegation. Please make sure you specify the number of delegates in the "Additional Information" Section. Once registered, our team will contact you to accommodate your group’s needs. Plus, delegations are eligible for the prestigious "Best Delegation" award.
